Walking holiday in Spain - The area where we walk

The village of Montichelvo (sometimes spelt Montixelvo, Montitxelvo and Montitxelbo!) is situated in the Vall d'Albaida which runs inland from the coast around Gandia to Xátiva.

The valley is surrounded by extensive mountain ranges, the nearest to us being the Peñyes Albes at about 650 metres. At the western end of this range is Benicadell which rises to about 1100 metres.

These mountains provide breathtaking views, unspoilt trails, running streams with pretty waterfalls, olive and orange groves, ruins and so much more.....

This area is easily accessible being roughly equidistant between Valencia and Alicante airports.
